Noaa Daily Weather Maps

Noaa's geoplatform provides geospatial data, maps, and analytics in support of noaa's mission through a gis application using esri's arcgis online. The daily weather map by chris geelhart (chris.geelhart@noaa.gov) on february 9, 1870, a joint congressional resolution authorized the secretary of war to establish meteorological observations at military stations, with the data used to forecast storms on the great lakes and the coastlines. In 1913 the title became simply daily weather map.

Eventually, in 1969, the weather bureau began publishing a weekly compilation of the daily maps with the title daily weather. Mostly dry and fine, though occasional periods of rain and showers are still possible particularly in the north west, and in the south which could be thundery at times.
